VetMotl Devices
Our VMB and VME portfolio of VetMotl devices delivers increased efficiencies in blast development and viable implantable embryos in equine and bovine ART procedures.
How VetMotl Devices Work
VetMotl devices can be used with fresh or frozen sample types: normal, low count, low motility (some motility is required), viscous, low volume, and a combination of the above.

- VetMotl Sperm Separation Devices have three major features: a sample inlet port, a sample outlet port/concentration chamber and a membrane filter.
- A raw semen sample is injected into the inlet port.
- The sample travels into the lower portion of the device, underneath a membrane filter that has micropores.
- Fertilization media is placed on top of the membrane.
- During incubation, progressively motile sperm migrate through the membrane filter’s micropores into the fresh media above, leaving behind the less motile, morphologically-abnormal sperm.
- What is collected from above the membrane filter are healthy, motile sperm.
A Better Way
to Prepare Sperm
Allow sample to liquify.
Draw semen sample volume for device input.
a) Achieve seal.
b) Slowly inject sample.
a) Prime outlet channel with media.
b) Cover membrane surface with media.
Incubate for 30 minutes.
Slowly aspirate sperm sample.

EQUINE
VetMotl Multi (850µL) Sperm Separation Device
VME0850
The VetMotl Multi (850µL) Sperm Separation Device (VME0850) prepares motile sperm from semen for use in equine reproduction procedures – artificial insemination (AI), in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) – as well as for embryo transfers (ET). The VetMotl device accepts 850µL of semen sample input and yields 500µL of output volume for downstream use. VetMotl devices separate sperm based on motility.
EQUINE
VetMotl Multi (3mL) Sperm Separation Device
VME3000
The VetMotl Multi (3mL) Sperm Separation Device (VME3000) prepares motile sperm from semen for use in equine reproduction procedures – artificial insemination (AI), in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) – as well as for embryo transfers (ET). The VetMotl device accepts 3mL of semen sample input and yields 1.0-1.5mL of output volume for downstream use. VetMotl devices separate sperm based on motility.

BOVINE
VetMotl Multi (850µL) Sperm Separation Device
VMB0850
The VetMotl Multi (850µL) Sperm Separation Device (VMB0850) prepares motile sperm from semen for use in bovine reproduction procedures – artificial insemination (AI), in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) – as well as for embryo transfers (ET). The VetMotl device accepts 850µL of semen sample input and yields 500µL of output volume for downstream use. VetMotl devices separate sperm based on motility.
