Now, Lee specializes in advanced reproductive technologies in horses and enjoys bridging the gap between the ivory towers of research and the breeding industry. Lee was the first veterinarian in New Zealand to produce foals by ICSI, postmortem genetics, cryopreservation, epididymal sperm, laparoscopic techniques and sex-sorted semen. While practicing as a specialist veterinarian, Lee has continued to publish over 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has supervised two PhD students and five MSc students. Lee has been the principal investigator for projects funded by the NZ Equine Research Foundation, NZ Equine Trust, NZ Callaghan Innovation and a collaborator on an Australian Research Council project on stallion fertility. She is on the committee of the International Symposium of Equine Reproduction, International Symposium of Stallion Reproduction and has hosted ISER XI in New Zealand. Lee has presented her work internationally and been awarded best practitioner publications (2018, 2024) and presentation (2023) at the New Zealand Equine Veterinary Association conference. EquiBreed ART has evolved to keep the New Zealand equine breeding industry at the forefront of reproductive technologies to improve fertility in horses. Lee is a consultant to MVS EquiBreed (Matamata Veterinary Services, New Zealand) and on the Scientific Advisory Team for VetMotl Inc. (USA).

Over the course of 11 years, Marcio successfully led multiple embryo transfer programs with 200 embryo pregnancies on average per season. Subsequently, Minitube invited him to oversee the Equine Technical Department in its Brazilian branch, where he dedicated nearly 12 years of service. Following this chapter, he moved to Dubai, undertaking the role of Technical Manager at German Standard Group (GSG), taking care of the Middle East market, products and education. The latter part of his academic journey, including master’s and PhD studies, delved into the intricate exploration of stallion semen handling, selection, and freezing. Throughout his career, Marcio has dedicated time to independent applied research, exploring various aspects such as semen selection, sperm freezing, semen cooling, mares’ folliculogenesis, embryo transfer, embryo vitrification, and ultrasonography. His expertise spans a broad spectrum, covering the areas of embryo transfer, artificial synchronization of recipients, various semen manipulation techniques, teaching, and specialized skills such as ovum pick-up and embryo vitrification.

Most recently, he was co-founder, Chairman and CEO of DxNow, Inc., from which the ZyMōt Fertility, Inc., and VetMotl, Inc., businesses were formed. Mr. Sharp has served in senior leadership roles with five venture-backed companies—as Chief Executive Officer of CYTOO, Inc. and ArunA Biomedical, Chief Commercial Officer of BioProcessors Corporation (acquired by Seahorse Biosciences), SVP Business Development of Cellomics (acquired by Fisher International), and VP Business Development of Gentra Systems (acquired by Qiagen). Earlier career includes senior leadership roles with Life Technologies, General Manager of Terumo Medical, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Heraeus Instruments and roles of increasing responsibility within the diagnostics business of Baxter Healthcare and a medical device subsidiary of Eli Lilly. Mr. Sharp has successfully commercialized more than 500 products and services. Earned M.S. and B.A. degrees from the Pennsylvania State University.

Utkan is a tenured professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Stanford in 2014, he held the position of Associate Professor at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital-Harvard Medical School and also served at the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology division. His research group has made significant contributions to the development of microfluidic platforms for sorting rare cells and exosomes and point-of-care bio-sensing technologies. Utkan leads a productive and impactful research group focused on addressing problems from the clinic with innovations including cell separation for IVF, optical technologies for detecting viruses, portable point-of-care technologies for diagnostics in global health, smart robots in vivo, and extracellular vesicle based early detection approaches for cancer. He is an elected fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and The Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research Distinguished Investigator. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles, 300 abstracts and proceedings, 24 book chapters and editorials, and 7 edited books. He holds 15 patents (11 of which have been translated into biomedical products). Dr. Demirci’s pioneering work in microfluidic cell sorting has resulted in CE registered and FDA cleared devices used in over 1.5 million clinical cases serving fertility patients globally.

Prior to his role at HCSC, he gained retail member experiences from sixteen years at Target Corporation Technology in various roles covering Target.com, finance transformation, store pricing and replenishment, guest mobile innovation, security compliance, and as Divisional CIO, leading the international transformation of Target Canada, including an initial 135-store rollout. He began his career in banking and acquisitions as a corporate real estate finance leader. Karl has navigated significant market change, integrating technology innovation across four different consumer industries: banking, real estate, retail, and healthcare. At both Target and HCSC, Karl has significantly invested in DEI mentoring with a focus on women in STEM, plus inclusion initiatives for community giving and people with disabilities.

He is a pioneer in the field of reproductive medicine and has over 30 years of experience, including a decade as a decorated professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He remained dedicated to the practice of Reproductive Medicine by serving as a clinical instructor, lecturer, administrator, editorial board member and grant-funded researcher in areas of sperm and transgenerational epigenetics, microfluidics, oocyte cryopreservation, fertility at advanced maternal age and male reproductive health. Dr. Jain has also made advancements in cryopreservation through cutting-edge research at his own clinic, Santa Monica Fertility, which he sold in 2019 and retired from in 2023. Dr. Jain is the current owner and Medical Director of Premier Sperm Donors, a new commercial sperm bank located in Santa Monica, California.
